My sister is the bio daughter and I am adopted. My sister has said to my mom and her own family, at least 20 yrs ago, that she doesn’t have a sister. That I am her adopted sister. My mom put her as power of attorney for her will & trust. After my mom was admitted to a memory care home facility with severe dementia, my sister had her will and trust amended making herself the only beneficiary and taking me off. I only found this out after my mom recently passed, on my birthday August 18 2023. It is very painful. Legally, the attorneys don’t advise you to contest it because it is a loosing battle. Only if multi millions are there, which it is not. Attorney’s ask $30k retainer and charge $600/HR. My sister Im sure was spending it all along since my mom was admitted in 2018. The cruel rejection of my sister and ultimate betrayal of stealing my inheritance has been horrible. It is very sad but that is how my sister is also. She is horrible.
