If I’m pulled over on my way to the hospital as a surgeon, should I alert the police who pulled me over?

My cousin is an anesthesiologist in the US and gets called in frequently. He said he drives carefully and very high speed. He said he was pulled over a few years ago en route to an emergency transplant. The officer escorted him (ahead of him at 110 mph on the Pheonix highway) to the hospital and told him next time to either call or ask the hospital call them for notification and assistance.

Police pay freeze: Bosses warn plans are 'an insult' - BBC NewsThat’s what he does now. If he’s called in, the hospital staff calls the local PD. He says he gets lots of escorts. My cousin is the kind of person that will go out of his way to help people. It’s probably why he gets called in the middle of the night a lot.

Note: I didn’t know this post would be so popular! Thanks to all of our emergency services and medical professionals for their hard work doing what they can help us!

A recent person posting like I always am is skeptical. Keep in mind this was years ago during a specialty residency. I just found out he opened his own back pain clinic in Cedar Cedar, Utah and it still happens.

He also is a hospice Dr and has a back pain clinic in Cedar City (Dr R W).
