The Carmen Manor Motel, 1044 [South] West Broadway [Street], Ocala, FL 34471 [approximate location; no current 1000 block] was listed in the 1956 Green Book. Dr. Ernest Emerson Lamb owned and operated the Club Bali and the Carmen Manor Motel. The businesses were located next door to each other.

Ernest Emerson Lamb was born 5 Feb 1913 in Lake City, Columbia, Florida. He died 4 Jul 1980 in Ocala, Marion, Florida. He was the son of James Lamb and his wife Corine Anita Lamb.

Dr. Lamb owned one of the nicest and largest dinner clubs in central Florida for people of color. Club Bali drew big name entertainment like The Ike and Tina Turner Review, James Brown and His Band of Renown, B.B. King, Aretha Franklin and others. Dr. Lamb also owned next door to his club several units of motel accommodations.
