President Donald Trump addressed hundreds of US military generals at Marine Corps Base Quantico, outlining a controversial plan to use American cities as “training grounds” for troops. Joined by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who declared an end to “woke” culture and announced new gender-neutral or male-level fitness standards, Trump framed domestic unrest as an “enemy from within.” He singled out cities like Chicago, New York and Los Angeles, signalling potential federal interventions. Trump also highlighted his foreign policy achievements and claimed he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. The speech left military leaders largely silent, raising questions about how the US armed forces might respond to these unprecedented domestic directives. — Donald Trump | Trump Military Speech | Marine Corps Base Quantico | US Military Generals | Trump Urban Training Plan | Pete Hegseth | End Of Woke Culture | Trump Fitness Standards | Domestic Unrest USA | Enemy From Within | Federal Intervention Cities | Chicago New York Los Angeles | Trump Nobel Prize Claim | Trump Foreign Policy | Military Response Trump | Trump National Security | Trump Gender Neutral Standards | Firstpost | News Live | World News | Latest News | Global News | International News | Trending News | Firstpost America | Eric Ham | War | Geopolitics | Global Economy | Firstpost | World News | Latest News | Global News |
UN experts declare US blockade of Venezuela illegal and issue message to Congress
Geneva, Switzerland – Four UN rights experts on Wednesday condemned the US blockade of Venezuela, determining it illegal armed aggression and calling on Congress to intervene.
But UN experts torched the justification, writing in a joint statement: “There is no right to enforce unilateral sanctions through an armed blockade.”
A blockade is a prohibited use of military force against another country under the UN Charter, while US actions are “such a serious use of force that [they are] also expressly recognized as illegal armed aggression under the General Assembly’s 1974 Definition of Aggression,” they said.
Under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Venezuela has “a right of self-defense,” the experts added.
Trump’s administration has accused Venezuela of using oil to finance “narcoterrorism, human trafficking, murders, and kidnappings.”
Caracas denies any involvement in drug trafficking. It says Trump is seeking to overthrow its president, Nicolas Maduro, in order to seize Venezuelan oil reserves, the largest in the world.
