Sure, she can challenge it. As long as the will is bona fide and was not altered, coerced and so on, it should be good. My dad owned a paid off life insurance policy on me when he died. I did not know about it, he bought it when I was a baby. My wicked stepmother tried every which way to cash it in, but she could not nor could my biological mother. Yeah, she tried too. It finally went to me as it was my name on it and I was the only one who could cash it in.
